The Eaton ELocker’s electromagnetic locking mechanism is the next generation of aftermarket differential technology. Push a button and you have a solid lock differential, control on demand! Performs as an open differential until you decide that you need more traction. The Eaton ELocker is your push button solution to almost any traction problem.
Designed Specifically for 4-Wheel Drive Applications
This system gives you the ability to lock or unlock the differentials when necessary. When locked the Eaton ELocker performs as a full locker, capturing 100% of available torque and sending it equally to both ends of the axle, true Power Traction!
The ELocker is built with precision-forged gears that are designed to mesh perfectly, providing improved strength and durability over a standard cut gear. Its ease of installation, reliability and push-button activation makes our Eaton ELocker an absolute must for all traction and off-road performance applications, rough terrain or sloppy
roads caused by bad weather. The unit is near maintenance fee and is serviceable un-like other positractions.
With its four-pinion design, the new ELocker withstands the deep gearing, large tires and harsh off-road terrain that would tax even the most robust original equipment component. The new Eaton ELocker is designed to be a selectable locker for the true off road application. “The unit is built to withstand the rigors of wheeling through trails of mud and sand, and even climbing rock surfaces, yet when turned off it the Eaton Elocker provides the road manners people have come to expect.”
The ELocker can even be activated while the vehicle is in motion; our ELocker uses electromagnets to push locking pins into a sturdy collar. The collar locks the axle-side gear into the differential case, performing as a spool to deliver equal power to both front wheels. This system is less complicated than an air-operated system and easier to install, because it does not require an add-on air compressor.
Push the button and, you have power at both ends of the axle. Locking both differentials, drive power at all four wheels. Equal power. And the power is there until you
disengage it. Here is how the electric positraction works, when the system
is activated, friction between an armature and an electromagnet apply's force
to a "ball ramp" mechanism. This forces the ball ramp's bearings out
of their pockets and up the ramp. That action, in turn, pushes the system's locking
pins into matching holes located on the back of the side gear. That locks the
axle, and drives torque to both wheels.
